Glossop SNT/Glossop YET - 🔪 Operation Sceptre 🔪
‘Operation Sceptre ’ Is a national, bi-annual week-long campaign in England and Wales targeting knife crime through policing, education, and community engagement.
It coordinates all 43 police forces to increase weapon surrenders, carry out targeted enforcement, and raise awareness of the risks of carrying knives.
Today, Monday morning (18th May), PCSO Buller was invited to New Mills Secondary School, Church Lane, New Mills to promote ‘Operation Sceptre’ and to complete an assembly for their year 10 students - with the input being presented on ‘Shattered’ knives shatter lives - which is Derbyshire Constabularies bespoke input for secondary school students on Knife Crime Awareness.
This was followed, later today, by our monthly lunch time drop-in session for May at the school, where ‘Operation Sceptre’ was again promoted though posters and engagement, alongside Fearless.org - which is the online reporting tool for young people - this enables young people to report crime 100% anonymously - Fearless is part of Crime Stoppers.
Thank you to the headteacher and staff for allowing both the Assembly and Lunchtime drop-in session today and especially for the participation of their students.
